Hello World!

Sorry Mommy, I wanted to see what would happen if I pulled the plug in my sac! So here I am, a little earlier than expected - and a lot tired after that laborious exercise.

Doctors were very worried about me, so they confined me to the Neonatal Unit of the hospital where I was born and poked and prodded me to no end, on a daily basis. I was also hooked up to I.V. and antibiotics during my six-day stay there, and blindfolded while they exposed me to the light for my slight jaundice. It was no small relief when I was discharged - my mommy could tell because I was smiling from ear to ear!

At my new home, I settled into a daytime routine of 3-4 hours napping, followed by 1 hour feedings -- I'm a slow eater, I mean drinker! My mommy thought I was doing okay, but when she took me for my first visit to the clinic, the nurses scolded my poor mommy because they thought I was not gaining enough weight. They sent us to the dietition who then instructed my mommy to put me on a rigorous feeding schedule of 2 ounces (S26 formula) every 2 hours. I also began drinking Enfamil as a supplement. Now my weight gain is acceptable and everyone's happy, including my mommy who doesn't like big bad nurses to tell her off!

Now that I am old enough and strong enough, I had my first set of "shots" last week. I didn't cry or do anything to make my mommy worry...yeah right! My feeding schedule is still rigorous but if that's what it takes-I'm okay with it.
